We have heard that there may be a new City Code regarding fences. Is there a new code that handles dilapidated and/or the color of wooden fences?

The Fence Standards Ordinance was adopted in August, 2012 and can be found at this link. http://www.friscotexas.gov/departments/planningDevelopment/Documents/2012_FenceO rd.pdf
The Ordinance does provide standards for the maintenance of fences and does require fences to be stained, sealed, painted or pressure treated materials. It does not address color.

Mr. Covington,

Thank you for your reply. Where do we report violations and what is needed in the report?

Best regards

Code violations can be reported to 972 292-5302, by email to Code@friscotexas.gov or online at http://www.friscotexas.gov/departments/planningDevelopment/codeEnforcement/Pages /ReportingCodeViolations.aspx
Let me clarify that, with the exception of dilapidated fences or safety hazards, these standards do not apply to fences constructed prior to August, 2012.
