Has any consideration ben made towards installing traffic signals on Main street to notify motorists an emergency vehicle is entering from the Central Station.

I witnessed two situations where the Medic and Engine had to come to a complete stop even though the sirens and lights were being used. In the event an accident occurs while the emergency equipment is in route. This could be very costly to both the fire departmens and citizens.

A signal will be constructed at Main and Gary Burns that includes advanced signals just west of the Fire Station to stop traffic and keep the engine's exit area clear. The signal will be tied into the fire station and will be preempted as the engines leave the station. The signal construction is scheduled to begin in early January and will be completed by the end of February.
