Is there somewhere we can see what council members voted for/against the smoking ban that was recently passed?

Yes. This is the official vote at the November 7, 2006 Regular City Council Meeting. Those voting in favor of the ban were; Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Allen; Council member Lafata and Dr. Jim Joyner. Those voting against the ordinance were: Council member West, Mayor Pro-Tem Maso and Council Member Felker. With a 3-3 vote; the Mayor has the opportunity to break the tie. Mayor Simpson voted in favor of the ban; therefore breaking the tie. Council West wanted the restaurants that had put in the correct ventilation to have more time than five years and Mayor Pro-Tem Maso asked for a longer length of time to review the ordinance. If you feel you need questions answered, please contact me, Nan Parker, City Secretary, TRMC/MMC at 972-292-5010. Thank you, Nan
