I could not find a thread with this topic, so I started a new one.

The City is currently in the midst of constructing Falcon Field, the park in Grayhawk by Boals elementry.

While I appreciate all the nice landscaping that is going on, is it not the responsibility of the city or the workers to clean up after themselves? I live right down the road and each evening I spend time walking around my house cleaning up garbage that has blown into my yard.

Tonight for instance there are 5-10 huge black tarp like cloths blowing all over the neighborhood. The greenbelt area of the development across the street from the park and a section of the school property looks like a garbage dump. There are empty landscaping containers all over the neighborhood in addition to some kind of white plastic clip.

I realize that from time to time things may just blow away, but it appears as if the workers just don't care that they litter our neighborhood that we try and keep neat and clean.

Thank you for sending your message and comments regarding the construction site for the Falcons Field neighborhood park.

I apologize for the area's condition and our staff will get in touch with the contractor who is constructing the park to ensure that cleanup is taking place on and near the site caused by his work.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. If you have any additional questions regarding this, please let me or our staff know.

Speaking of this topic, are there regulations for a builder to clean up their mess? I live in Creekside at Preston in the area being developed now. I typically have trash all in my yard as well, and lots of trash on the side of the house. I try to pick it up when I can, but when it is a daily chore it gets pretty annoying.

Builders are required to provide receptacles for trash and to take measures to keep trash from blowing onto adjacent properties. The inspector assigned to you neighborhood will investigate your concerns and correct the problem. You may contact Building Inspections at 972 292-5301 if you have further questions.

I noticed some kids practicing for soccer yesterday. Is the turf ready for this and has the park been officialy turned over to the city?

Dear Anonymous,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The park has not yet been accepted by the City and the contractor continues to be responsible for the site.

We will also contact the Frisco Soccer Association and make sure that they make their teams aware that the park is not available for practice at this time and we will not make it available until the spring of 07 for that activity.

Thanks again,

Rick Wieland
Director of Parks and Recreation
