Can you confirm a report on commercial realtors www.princetonpartnersre.com web site that states a Super Walmart will be going in at the NW corner of Preston Rd & Hickory? Its says the Walmart will be ready by Sept 2007, so if this is true I would think the permitting process would have started.

The developer has not submitted a development application to start the process for reviewing any plans on this property.
Also, itís not usual for statements to be made or signs posted that a business will open at a future date. Sometimes they do this to create interest in the development and/or reduce competition from other properties.
You can find out if a case has been submitted by accessing this link on the Cityís web page on http://www.ci.frisco.tx.us/departments/Planning_Development/index.aspx?id=130 We have one submission per month and that occurs on the last Monday of the month. The information is broken down per quadrants. The property you are inquiring about is in the southwest quadrant of the City.

The preliminary site plan shows a big box retail store. The developer has indicated to staff that they are not pursuing a specific use permit at this time for any type of large retailer. They are looking to develop the property along Gary Burns Drive (Spur 33). They understand that in the future they will have to apply for and obtain a specific use permit if they choose to pursue a large retailer.
