In my neighborhood today, a city worker came out and opened the hydrant across the street and let it gush over the street for over 30 minutes or so. Is there a reason for this? It seems, especially since we are in a drought, extremely wasteful! I wanted to get some buckets and start pouring it over my yard!!!

In order to comply with all state regulations, we must perform routine water system flushing to maintain the required levels of water quality. Thanks for your inquiry. If you have additional questions, please contact my office at 972-335-5520.
