Is the City of Frisco still planning on developing Newman Village (it was mentioned in the 2005 Future Planning and Development document)? If yes, when will the construction begin and will it still be located at the Northwest corner of El Dorado and DNT? Thank you.

Eric,

Newman Village is a private development project. It is not a City project. At this time we do not know when the developer is planning to move forward with any type of construction. Plats would be required for the development and no applications have been made as of today. The project will be located on the northwest corner of Legacy and Eldorado and not on the DNT. Please feel free to email or contact me at 972.292.5305.

Scott - is this any further along? Also, is it Tract 1 on the Northwest corner of Eldorado and Legacy - or is it Tract 6, Southwest corner of Legacy and Panther Creek?

Thanks

Layne,

The Newman Village Planned Development extends from Panther Creek on the north to Eldorado on the south and from Legacy westward. The two tracts that you mention are the two retail corners of the project. These will not be the first phases of the overall project. A portion of the site to be developed as residential has been submitted for plat approval. This portion lies to the west of both of these corner tracts, approximately 1,000 feet west of Legacy. They are still working on finalizing their construction plans so we do not know when they may go to construction on the subdivision.
