I saw where the NDT was going to have an exit and on ramp for Panther Creek. Are there plans to extend Panther Creek past Teel all the way to the NDT? Right now Panther Creek runs from 423 to Teel. If we extended Panther Creek to the NDT, I feel this would relieve some of the El Dorado congestion.

Thank you,

Mike Finn

Thanks Mr. Finn for your post. Panther Creek is planned to be extended from Teel to the Tollway sometime in the future as funds become available. Included in the bond election on May 13th is $100 million dollars for roads. If approved by the voters, the allocation of these funds, over the next five years, could be used for such a project if deemed appropriate by the City Council.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me at (972) 335-5585 ext. 127.

Thanks, Hulon

Can you update us on if there is a more definite date on extending Panther Creek from Teel to the Tollway and Preston? Has this project been deemed appropriate by the City Council?

At this point, the project would be development driven. I don't expect bond funds to be used to build this portion of Panther Creek within the next two years. If it hasn't been built within the next couple of years, we will then consider using bond funds for this section.

Driving by the intersection of Panter Creek & Teel, it appears that some work has begun on the east side of the intersection. Is it possible that this work is the beginning of the extension of Panther Creek to the east?

Can you update us on the time schedule for the Panther Creek extension from Teel to DNT?

The following is copied from the Engineering monthly report which is available for review on the City's web site under Departments/Engineering/Reports:

Panther Creek Parkway (DNT Teel) and Legacy Drive - This project was submitted and
approved by City Council in May 2007 for expedited design and construction. Plans were
completed by HNTB in November 2007. Council awarded the bid on December 18,
2007 to Mario Sinacola & Sons, and construction began January 21st, 2008. Construction of
Panther Creek Parkway is projected to be complete in six months. Legacy Drive should be
completed by August 2008.

What about Panther Creek from Preston to DNT? Any updates there? Having this road in place will be a significant help when Preston & Eldorado construction begins.

Bryan, this portion of Panther Creek is not currently in the bond program. Development may construct the roadway as it develops adjacent to it over the next several years or it may be prioritized in an upcoming bond election.
