I noticed on 121 Southbound this morning that a flashing sign read "Tollway closed 3/31-4/14" Does this mean they are closing all of 121 for 2 straight weeks?! If so, where are they going to route the traffic?

Will,

To help with the explanation, "SH 121" now refers to the frontage roads while "Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)" refers to the highway mainlanes. (There are times when the SRT is closed and times when SH 121 is closed, but those do not mean the same thing.)

The closure you are asking about will only occur at night. NTTA will be closing the mainlanes of the Sam Rayburn Tollway between Parkwood and the Dallas North Tollway each night from 3/31 to 4/14. Each night the mainlanes will close at 9 PM and then they will reopen by 5 AM the following morning. When the mainlanes are closed, all southwest-bound highway traffic will be diverted onto the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road at the Parkwood exit ramp. Traffic will be able to re-enter the highway at the next entrance ramp.

(The City makes announcements about NTTA's scheduled closures. You can find these on the homepage of the City website or you can sign up to receive emails whenever we send out these announcements. You can also go to NTTA.org to see more information about the lane closures for this interchange project.)
