This is regarding the lack of any electronic signage at the Number 6 Fire Station on Eldorado and Independence. It's been open since 2006 and yet to have any electronic signage established like the other stations that have followed. Since the electronic signage notifies Frisco residents of upcoming council meetings etc. , why does the station #7 on West Eldorado provide that service to residents in that part of the city and not on the east side? At night, if someone was trying to locate station #6 while driving down Eldorado, one can not see clearly that a fire station is coming up. Since the city decided to evaluate this matter in 2008, nothing has been done yet. Please advise, thx.

Dear Sir or Madam,
The City has continued to evaluate the use of electronic signage at the fire stations since Fire Station 6 was built in 2009. At the time, the signage did not meet our expectations and we are continuing to look at other alternatives as time and priorities permit. Recently, in cooperation with the Frisco Independent School District, the City jointly installed a new sign at Main and Gary Burns. This new sign has so far proven to be more effective and reliable than the unit at Station 6, next to Griffin Middle School. With that in mind, we are continuing to evaluate this new sign on Main Street for its durability as well as provide the time needed to see economic conditions improve to a level where we feel an electronic sign would be a more effective use of funds.
