Are stop sings on private property enforceable?

I have notice that quite a few shopping areas have stop signs in front of the store where pedestrians would be walking. Quite often people either don't bother stopping for them or use them as their person parking stop.

Kroger at Preston/Rolater is pretty bad, people often don't stop or use the stop sign as a place to park for the redbox at the front door or running in to shop.

As they are not on a public street placed by a government entity, no, they are not enforceable by police. The operator of a motor vehicle could face some civil liability for not abiding by them if it contributed to an accident.

What about the fire zones in front of stores? I have noticed many cars parked there while the owner runs in to the store?

Fire lanes and handicapped parking is enforceable, as they are required by a governmental entity.

Does the Police Dept patrol the parking lots for these violations?
