Within the last couple of months, the water we get out of our tap has changed in both taste and smell. A couple of our neighbors have commented that they noticed the same thing.
Has the city changed something regarding water treatment or water storage?
Is there a way to get someone to come test the water chemically? We regularly get microscopic rust particles in our dishwasher.

Cristopher:

The City of Frisco, as a member of the North Texas Municipal Water District, purchases treated water from the Lake Lavon treatment plant. The water district has not informed us of any changes to the treatment process. The City of Frisco also has not changed anything in regard to our storage or distribution. The chemical composition of our water is tested by the district monthly and is listed on the City of Frisco website, www.friscotexas.gov/water. The source of the rust particles could be your hot water heater. If you have additional questions and concerns, or if you would like for us to check our water system in your area, please contact the Public Works office at 972-292-5800. Thanks.
