Coming home this afternoon I was on Stonebrook when a school bus was stopped (with lights flashing) on the east side of the road. I was on the west bound and about 10 cars were stopped so I had to also - but - on a divided road you are not required to stop - correct?

You are correct. Motorists traveling the opposite direction on a divided roadway are not required to stop.
