I was previously told that the city was looking to add a city park across from Pearson Farms near to Guinn Gate and Cotton Gin in the new Park Place Estates neighborhood. Has an area been designated and if so, when can we anticipate resident input for that park? There is a tremendous need as our neighborhood does not have a playground and we have a large number of children.

There has not be a park designated in this area to date. As the remaining tracts of property come in for development east of Cotton Gin Road, the Parks and Recreation Board will review them for the need and desire to request a neighborhood park. Once property is acquired, then the development is prioritized based on a number of things, such as the amount of undeveloped parks currently in inventory, the amount of users for that particular park etc. Prior to development, the City will typically have 2-3 meetings for residents to interact with Staff as well as the consultants as the master plan is being developed for that particular park.
