I was curious about the noise ordinance regarding loud vehicular sound amplification systems.

What are the policies on determining wether or not the sound coming from the vehicle is too loud? is it up to a local officer to decide wether or not it is too loud by measuring by ear?

I know in Addison, TX a decibel meter is required to issue a ticket in violation of their noise ordinance, so i was wanting to know exactly how it was done in Frisco.

Thanks in advance for your help,
John Hardwick

Frisco's ordinance does not require the use of a meter. The officer would make the determination based on his/her own observations.

Is there a way for one to apply for a permit to extend the noise ordinance for an event that will be in violation of the Ordinance other wise.

In this context a concert like event that would extend to 11:00 P.M.

If so is there a procedure in doing so or is there an online application that can be filled out and sent to city hall?
