Uday,

At this time there is a proposed Kroger to be built on the northwest corner of Eldorado Parkway and Custer Road. It would be part of a shopping center with a number of different retail businesses and restaurants. We do not know when this project will go to construction especially during these economic times.

There is a Wal-Mart in McKinney at the intersection of Custer Road and US 380. The area that you are asking about is too close to that store to warrant another store.

While we do not track completion dates due to any number of conditions that can delay a project, Frisco ISD is planning on having the school ready for the new school year next fall.

Is it possible for a Wal-Mart to go anywhere along Eldorado? There is one in The Colony & the one you mentioned in McKinney, but neither are particularly close to the Eldorado area between the Tollway & Preston.

Bryan,

It is physically possible to locate a Wal-Mart along Eldorado between Tollway and Preston. Is it likely, no. Like any other retail business, Wal-Mart has to have a large number of houses in an area to add a store. They also do not want to over lap one store area with another store area. There are not enough houses along Eldorado between Preston and the Dallas North Tollway to be able to draw a new store to this area. There is also a Target located on the southwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Eldorado. Wal-Mart also takes into consideration the location of competitors in determining a new store location.
