Does the city anticipate putting in turning lanes on Preston for turning right onto Rolater when heading north on Preston and/or turning right onto Stonebrook, when heading south on Preston Rd?

The City has been allocated funding for intersection improvements along Preston Road by the Regional Transportation Committee. The Preston Road intersection with Rolater/Stonebrook has been identified as one of the intersections where we would like to add turn lanes. The funding has been allocated, but is not yet available so we do not have a time frame of when the intersection improvements will be completed.

Do you have an update on this project?

At this time, we do not have any updates on the Preston Road intersection improvement projects. Funding has been identified; however, the funding has not been released. We still have not been given a time frame for when this will happen.

Does this plan also include extending the left turn lane on west bound Rolater at Preston? It's not uncommon to see cars backed up to and sometimes beyond the eastern most Kohls entrance.

Any update on this? With the new Walmart coming I'm hoping these would be done before the Walmart is.

The City has begun the intial contract procedures with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to obtain funding for the project. The funding includes money from the federal government, so federal rules must be followed in project development and design. Unfortunately, federal project procedures result in longer time periods to complete the design of the project. We do not expect to be able to begin construction of the project in the next couple of years.
We will continue to work through the federal requirements to deliver the project as quickly as possible.
