Could you please explain the plans and reasons behind the fencing posts that have come up around the playing field at shepherds glen park. I have to admit that we're bumbed about the decision.

Sam,

You are probably aware that the students from Gunstream Elementary utilize this area of our park along Inlet. A representative of the FISD contacted us and said they had safety concerns about the younger students wandering into the street or chasing soccer balls into the street. The FISD representative said they were willing to pay for the construction of a black vinyl chain link fence along the area. As always, in the interest of the children’s’ safety, we were agreeable to this installation. There will still be access into the park from the existing sidewalk.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have future park related questions or concerns.

Same park---different question. A few weeks ago, the "water bucket" feature was knocked down from its perch at the spray park. Will a replacement be installed? The bucket has always been one of the more popular features of the spray park.

Scott,

Thanks for your note regarding the water feature located at Shepherds Glen neighborhood park. The water bucket feature you have mentioned was damaged and it is currently in the process of being replaced by a new one.

The element has been ordered and is expected to be delivered later this week. Once we have received it, we will have it installed as soon as possible.

Thanks again for the note. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Scott,

A new water bucket has been ordered. Unfortunately it may not arrive before we close the spray park at the end of September. It will be operational when the spray park reopens next spring.
