The new park at Tuscany Meadows is overgrown with weeds and crab grass. This makes it difficult for the kids to practice soccer and it kind of looks ugly. Could you get the lawn mowed and de-weeded.

J Reddy,

The crab grass you referred to is more likely rye grass or some other species of winter grass. We use herbicides very sparingly in our parks for environmental reasons. We just recently fertilized Tuscany Village Park, and regular mowing and fertilization will abate the majority of the weeds and winter grasses when the weather warms up. The rains and cooler than normal temperatures have slowed the process somewhat this spring.

Our mowing schedules have been altered somewhat due to all of the rains, but Tuscany will be on a weekly mowing schedule throughout the summer.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have future park related concerns or questions.
