What is going on with the Frisco Market Center? The land was leveled months ago for building to begin. There has been no activity since then. Is the developer not moving forward?

The developer has indicated to staff that he is still proceeding forward with the project.

Does anyone know when more things are slated to be built there? The site plan lists a "Fitness Center." Does anyone know what that Fitness Center might be? The site plan suggests it might be a Lifetime Fitness?

At this time the developer has not submitted plans for the development of that area west of the power line. Before any project can move forward in this area a site plan and plat must be approved by the Planning & Zoning Commission. City staff is not aware of any time frame for future development of the site.

Is there an update on this project? There has been a lot of activity lately coming off of Legacy Drive.

The activity going on is only a completion of some off-site improvements that were required in conjunction with the Main Event property. No other development has been approved in that area.

Does the city have a say on large parcels of land that lay undeveloped? Looks like the developer has moved on. Can the city market it to other entities or will it just keep sitting there with no new movement? Given the location, I'm sure there are numerous developers who would love to take the project over and see it through.

Through zoning and development ordinances the City has some say in how property is developed in Frisco. However, when and how a property is developed is primarily market and investment driven.

As the City's economic development agency, the Frisco Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) promotes and markets properties available for sale and/or development throughout Frisco.

The economic downturn has made it more difficult to develop commercial property as many retailers reduced or stopped expansion plans.

As our economy continues to improve , Frisco Market Center is a location that should be primed for additional development.

The developer at this site is currently working on some off site improvements, which is the construction you see behind the Main Event property.

Hi,

I was curious about the new construction in Frisco Market Center - specifically the corner lot along Main & Dallas Parkway and a second parcel on the corner of Main & Legacy. Can you divulge what businesses are planned for this location? I've heard that Trader Joe's and Fuzzy's Taco Shop were planned for this area.

On the northwest corner of Main/DNT, we have preliminary plans in for four retail/restaurant buildings. We do not have specific tenant information at this time. On the northeast corner of Main and Legacy, Racetrac is under construction.

I was wondering if the Frisco Market Center is going to have public bathrooms or is each store in the center going to have individual bathrooms in their stores?

Frisco Market Center is a private development – none of the development plans have reflected any “public restrooms”. Some retailers may offer restrooms to their customers.

Can you please tell me what businesses will be going in at the latest construction at Frisco Market Center? There are two buildings to the west of Pei Wei facing Main Street, and more dirt being moved east of Main Event facing the DNT feeder road. I've seen the final plat drawings on the P&Z agendas, but haven't seen a list of expected tenants.

There will be two buildings east of Main Event. The northern one will be a medical facility with additional tenant spaces for medical offices. The second building is a multi-tenant restaurant/retail building. We don’t know the tenants for that building.
