At&t (and a sub contractor Texoma Underground) are doing work in our area. They currently have my yard (and others) torn up digging a huge hole in the yard and under the sidewalk. The hole is big enough for a man to sit under the sidewalk and work.

Does the City require permits for this type work? Will the City be inspecting this work when finished?

Is there any recourse if they do not put our yards back to the shape they were in before they messed them up?

Will the sidewalk be structurally sound after this?

Texoma Underground did obtain a permit from the City and they plan to restore the area and the grass on Friday.

They are required to restore the disturbed areas to previously existing conditions or better.

The City will inspect the work for completion. A homeowner can contact Dan Franke, Civil Engineer in Public Works at 972-292-5821 or the Public works main number at 972-292-5800 if the work is not completed as required.
