I had a person claiming to be an Israeli art student selling oil painting come by my house. She stated she had a permit to do so, this was 3-28-08. Is there a way to check to see if she had a permit?
Also, has anyone else had dealings with this group?

Without the name of the person, we cannot be sure of the issuance of a permit. No one has any recollection of a permit being issued for the solicitation of paintings. If you ask a solicitor to present their permit, they should do so. More than likely, the person did not have a permit.
Residents can post signs on their door with a minimum 1" letters that say "NO SOLICITORS." If they solicit with the presence of this sign, they are in violation. Feel free to call police communications at 972.292.6010 to report suspicious activity. An officer can check to ensure they are properly registered.
