I live in Frisco, west of the Tollway in Denton County (not Collin County). So why am I recieving a Collin County Tax Bill in addition to a Denton County bill?

Please contact the Collin County Tax Assessor and Collector office. Here is a link to their web page with contact information.

this is a common misunderstanding for those living in West Frisco. Your City and FISD taxes will come with a Collin County heading as Collin County is used to collect these. The bill should have the taxes itemized and there should not be a charge for Collin County taxes on there, just City of Frisco and FISD.

When you appeal your tax bill you have to appeal to both taxing entities, what happens if one says yes and the other no?

Per Nell Lange, Assistant City Manager:

There is new legislation that was effective as of September 1, 2007 that changes the appeal process. You will only appeal to the appraisal district you reside in as of January 1, 2008 valuations. If you live in Denton County you will appeal to the Denton County Appraisal Board.
