Last night at 6PM, dozens (maybe hundreds?) of cars were marooned on the Dallas North Parkway when a freight train stopped on the tracks headed west bound just north of Stonebrook. It took nearly 30 minutes for the train to continue moving and allow traffic to move. This also happened a few weeks ago on Main Street with a different freight train headed east on the same tracks.

What can be done about this? Not only is it inconvenient, but it also causes a safety issue because cars try to back up and find alternate routes.
