Who would I contact about the construction truck traffic on 4th Army near the new high school being built? There are clearly marked signs that say no trucks,(the sign has a red line through a truck so I'm assuming that means all trucks), but the semi trucks are using it extensively. There are joggers and just generally not enough room on the road for them. The road is very rutted already. Please advise if there is anything I can follow up with. Thanks.

Chuck,

When "No Truck" signs are posted on a road, it means that trucks cannot use the road as a through route. However, trucks are allowed to drive on such a road if they are making deliveries to that area or working on a nearby construction project.

However, due to the nature of 4th Army Drive, we did ask a couple weeks ago that the school district reroute their construction trucks so that they don't drive on 4th Army any more.

By the way, as part of the high school project, 4th Army Drive will be reconstructed as a wider, concrete roadway from Stonebrook to Timber Ridge. At the same time, the City will improve 4th Army Drive between Timber Ridge and Lebanon Road.

When is 4th army construction planned? It is very dangerous right now with the road literally falling apart.

Design began this month. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2014 and take approximately 1 year to construct. The road should be finished by late Summer 2015.

There have been some questions regarding B.F. Phillips Community Park and the linkage of the Ruff Range dog park facility as well as the hike and bike trail connection to the east of the park that will occur with the construction of 4th Army Memorial Road.

While our ultimate intent will be to link both the dog park as well as the hike and bike trail to B. F. Phillips Community Park, we do not currently have funds identified for these linkages.

The Ruff Range facility is actually a part of B. F. Phillips and linking that facility to the rest of the park is something that will be providing at some point in the future.

We look forward to the construction of the roadway and will be examining our linkage possibilities over the next year as construction begins.

Thanks for your interest and feel free to let me or our staff know if you should have any questions regarding this.

Sincerely,

When 4th Army is reconstructed, are they going to connect the Greenbelt to the Dog Park and on to BF Phillips. Also, is the connector supposed to be below road grade under the new 4th army?

Yes on both items. Once the bridge is constructed we will be able to make the connection
