I noticed a traffic signal going up at Preston and Meadow Hill. What was the reason for putting that signal there and what is the expected date that it will be turned on?

We had received requests for a traffic signal at both Meadow Hill/Preston and Fisher/Preston. Signal warrant studies were conducted several years ago and the decision at that time was to construct a signal at Meadow Hill and Preston.

The signal construction was originally planned to occur with the Preston Road widening project. However, as the Preston Road project encountered delays, the decision was made last fall to proceed with the construction prior to the reconstruction of Preston.

We hope to have the signal turned on within the next 2 to 3 weeks. The signal is ready for operation, but we are waiting for an electrical meter to be installed.
