I just heard that Brazos is proposing placing above ground double circuit high voltage lines on Main Street. What you you know about this and will the city allow them to basically ruin Main Street by doing this?

Brazos Electric provides electricity to CoServ. They have identified a potential capacity shortfall in the area and are looking into ways of bringing in additional capacity. They are proposing to construct one line and one electrical substation.

The city has no jurisdiction or local control over where the line will be placed, this process will occur at the state level, within the Public Utility Commission.

At this point, the City continues to evaluate all of the options regarding the proposed Brazos Transmission Line. We will continue to answer citizen inquires to the best of our ability and we encourage all concerned citizens to attend the Brazos Stakeholder Meeting, a come and go type meeting, to be held from 4:30-7:30 on Tuesday August 27 at the Depot at Frisco Heritage Center, located at 6499 Page Street, Frisco, Texas 75034.

The meeting is hosted by Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. and Cox/McLain Environmental Consulting, Inc. For more information, contact Christine Polito, CHRISTINE@COXMCLAIN.COM (512) 338-2223 or Richard Chambers, RCHAMBERS@BRAZOSELECTRIC.COM , (254) 750-6369.
