Due to the heavy rains in the Frisco area the Mosquitoes are out in force. Has there been any consideration to spraying for these insects?

At this time, the City of Frisco does not proactively spray chemicals to address adult mosquitoes. Certain mosquitoes will breed in stagnant water and most adults will nest in high grass/brush/trees. This time of year, it is important for homeowners to reduce possible nesting sites, monitor property for stagnant water and familiarize themselves with personal protective measures. We do monitor the area for stagnant water in an effort to address areas that may allow breeding of mosquitoes. Our last inspection of potential areas revealed water running clear with no visible larvae present. Please visit our informational site below from the City web site www.friscotexas.gov that details our programs. If you observe areas of high, unmaintained grass please contact Code Enforcement at 972.292.5302.
