what is going on with the lights at Beaver Bend Park and Cheyenne Village? Did the city turn-off the lights?

Bridgett,

Thank you for the note regarding lights being out at the parking lot area at Beavers Bend Park. I appreciate you making us aware of this as we had not observed any problems to date.

We will look into it and get it corrected.

Thanks again,

Are there any plans to stop the erosion that occurs on the trails in Beaver Bend Park after every rain? You cannot walk on the walkways on the western end without seriously bogging in mud. An edging strip or something needs to be implemented along the sidewalks to hold back the mud!

Beth,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you regarding your questions about Beavers Bend Park.

With all of the recent rainfall, the areas along the trail at Beavers Bend have been particularly difficult to maintain.

With the recent drought conditions this past year making the establishment of landscape difficult and then heavy amounts of rainfall over the past month causing erosion for these same areas, this has definitely been a challenge.

We have temporarily placed some erosion control along these paths and will replace with sod once this can be done over the next several weeks. Because of the recent wet weather, sod farms have had a hard time actually cutting sod until conditions dry out a little.

We will continue to monitor this and try and correct these problems as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your note, questions and concerns.
